Which Perodua Axia variant should you pick?

Aside from the Axia Rahmah, all four variants of the second-generation Axia run the same 1KR-VE engine, a 1,000cc unit paired with D-CVT. Fuel economy is roughly the same across the range, except for the top two variants, which come with ECO Idle.

Here's a quick rundown of the four variants, and what each one is good for.

Axia 1.0G - for buyers on a tight budget

At RM33,900, monthly payments stay low. Take a loan of RM34,000 with a 10% down payment (RM3,400) at 2.5% p.a. interest, and you're looking at under RM350 a month. It's the base model, but safety isn't an afterthought - it still comes with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRC), ABS, Hill Start Assist, and two airbags.

Axia 1.0X - value for money

Building on the 1.0G's basics, the 1.0X adds a few quality-of-life touches. LED lights give it a more modern look, Smart Entry Push Start makes getting in easier, and a rear camera plus a bigger infotainment screen add extra safety. The price goes up RM2,600, but the upgrade is worth it.

Axia 1.0SE - more comfort, sportier looks

Next up is the 1.0SE, which keeps everything from the 1.0X but adds front and side skirts. It also comes with pre-installed tinted windows and LED DRLs. This variant leans into comfort and styling, at RM4,000 more than the variant below it.

Axia 1.0AV - the most complete, most advanced

The AV sits at the top of the range. Its standout feature is Perodua's Advanced Safety Assist (ASA), which covers Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Auto High Beam. It also gets a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch infotainment screen.
