The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has announced a new special vehicle registration plate series. This time, it is the H series, introduced in conjunction with Malaysia Day 2026.

The H series will consist of registration numbers from H 1 to H 9999. According to JPJ, the letter “H” represents “Harmoni” (Harmony), while the series is particularly significant as it will be the final registration series with a single letter as its prefix.

Bidding for the H series will take place through JPJeBid from 16 to 20 September 2026, with the results scheduled to be announced on 21 September 2026.

H is JPJ's fourth special registration plate series in 2026

The H series is not the first special registration plate series announced by JPJ this year.

So far in 2026, JPJ has introduced four special series: FH, P-P, V-MY and the latest H series.

The FH series was introduced in conjunction with Federal Territory Day, while P-P was launched to mark JPJ's anniversary. The V-MY series was introduced for Visit Malaysia 2026, while the latest H series is being offered in conjunction with Malaysia Day 2026.

With each series consisting of 9,999 registration numbers, that means a total of 39,996 special registration numbers have been made available across these four series.

Selling vehicle registration numbers can also generate significant revenue for the government. According to the government, RM312 million was collected from the sale of vehicle registration numbers in 2023 alone.

The revenue is channelled to the Federal Treasury and used for national development. If you would like to participate in the bidding, you can read JPJeBID Bateriku article for guidance.
