Perodua has officially launched its first EV after months of teasers. The model, named QV-E, is fully developed in-house and not a rebadged China model.
Perodua QV-E Price
This fully Malaysian EV carries a price of RM80,000. The offer is unique because the battery is placed under a Battery as a Service model. It is the first of its kind in Malaysia and buyers must subscribe to the battery at RM275 per month.

The main benefit of this scheme is lifetime battery coverage as long as the subscription stays active. Perodua wants to address used market concerns because many buyers worry about battery age and resale value.
The downside is the total monthly commitment. Buyers pay their bank loan plus RM275 for battery rental. Some may choose to include the battery cost into the loan. For a 9 year tenure, the battery cost alone totals RM29,700. This puts the effective cost of the QV-E at RM109,700 before bank profit rate and 8% SST on the BaaS service.

Perodua has not announced the start date for first deliveries. For production, they aim for at least 500 units per month, ramping up to 3,000 units per month by Q3 2026.
Perodua QV-E Specifications
Size and Dimensions
The QV-E measures 4,170 mm in length and 1,800 mm in width. Its 2,680 mm wheelbase makes it larger than the Myvi and close in size to the Proton e.Mas 5 and BYD Dolphin. The platform is co-developed with Magna Steyr and can support hybrid and REEV setups. This packaging affects rear legroom because the platform must accommodate battery placement.
Electric Motor and Performance

The QV-E uses a front mounted motor. It produces 150 kW or 201 hp and 285 Nm. These figures are similar to the BYD Atto 3 but lower than the Proton e.Mas 7 motor. With this output, annual road tax stands at RM160.
Battery and Range
Only one QV-E variant is available. The battery is a 52.5 kWh LFP unit from CATL. It delivers a claimed 445 km on the NEDC cycle. A realistic range is around 350 to 380 km.
It supports 60 kW DC charging. Perodua states it takes 30 minutes to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent. For home charging, it accepts up to 6.6 kW AC which needs about 8 hours for a full charge.
Cabin and Comfort
Inside the cabin, the QV-E offers several notable features. It has a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Wireless phone charging is included. This is also the first Perodua with an electric powered driver seat and ambient lighting.

The QV-E is equipped with the full Perodua Smart Drive Assist suite. It includes active safety features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, Highway Assist, and Lane Keep Assist. A new feature introduced for the first time is the Child Presence Detection System. It uses radio waves to detect children or pets in the rear seat. If detected, it sends alerts through horn signals and SMS via the P Circle mobile app.
