Hyundai Motor Malaysia has officially launched the Hyundai Stargazer in Malaysia, with prices starting from RM99,800. Based on its specifications, this MPV is set to compete with several established family-oriented models in the Malaysian market, including the Mitsubishi Xpander, Proton X90, Toyota Veloz, Perodua Alza and Perodua Aruz.

The Hyundai Stargazer is available in three variants, with buyers able to choose between seven- and six-seat configurations. Here are the prices for each variant:

• Hyundai Stargazer Style - RM99,800
• Hyundai Stargazer Prime - RM109,800
• Hyundai Stargazer X - RM121,800

8-year warranty and resale value protection

The Hyundai Stargazer comes with an 8-year or 160,000km warranty under the myHyundaiCare programme. For additional ownership benefits, early buyers can opt for the Early Bird Value Package at RM4,600, which includes eight free after-sales service visits or four years of free servicing.

Existing Hyundai owners can also receive an additional RM1,000 rebate through the All-Star Reward prograamme when purchasing a new Stargazer.

Another notable initiative introduced for the Stargazer is Hyundai's Resale Value Protection (RVP) Programme. Under the programme, Stargazer owners are guaranteed a predetermined trade-in value when upgrading to another Hyundai vehicle, subject to the programme's terms and conditions.

The guaranteed values are:

• 70% of the value in the third year, with mileage of up to 60,000km
• 60% of the value in the fourth year, with mileage of up to 80,000km
• 50% of the value in the fifth year, with mileage of up to 100,000km

Customers interested in the Hyundai Stargazer can visit Hyundai showrooms nationwide from 26 September 2026 for a test drive.

Same engine, different seating configurations

All Hyundai Stargazer variants are powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 115PS and 144Nm of torque, paired with a 40-litre fuel tank. The power is sent to the front wheels through an Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT).

Of the three Stargazer variants, the two lower variants feature a 2+3+2 seven-seat configuration.

The entry-level Stargazer Style comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, fabric seats and an 8-inch infotainment display. The driver gets vehicle information through a 4.2-inch TFT LCD instrument cluster.

Moving up to the more premium Stargazer Prime, buyers get upgraded equipment including 17-inch alloy wheels and a six-speaker audio system, adding two speakers over the Style. Other equipment such as the seat material and infotainment system are also upgraded depending on the specification.

The range-topping Stargazer X takes a different approach by reducing the seating capacity to six. It features a 2+2+2 configuration, with second-row captain chairs finished in leatherette.

The X also gets 17-inch black gloss alloy wheels and black Hyundai emblems for a more distinctive appearance. On the outside, it is the only variant available with the Gravity Gold Matte exterior colour.

Hyundai SmartSense with ADAS 2.0

In terms of safety, only the Prime and X variants come with the more comprehensive Hyundai SmartSense suite.

The additional features not available on the Style include Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go.

Other SmartSense features available depending on the variant include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keep Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), High Beam Assist (HBA), Driver Attention Alert (DAW) with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert (LVDA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA) and Safe Exit Assist (SEA).

The Prime and X also get six airbags, compared with two airbags on the entry-level Style.

Hyundai Stargazer focuses on family practicality

Hyundai is positioning the Stargazer around its “WEhicle” concept, focusing on how families can make use of the MPV for their everyday journeys.

The Style and Prime feature second-row seats with a 60:40 split-folding configuration, while the X gets a 50:50 split-folding configuration for its second-row captain chairs.

One of the more interesting features in the Stargazer is the tray provided for rear passengers, similar to the trays found in an aircraft cabin. It can be used when having a meal or as a convenient surface for placing a laptop.

Rear passengers also get dedicated air-conditioning vents mounted on the cabin roof, helping to improve airflow and comfort throughout the cabin.
