The Chery Tiggo Cross is a B-segment SUV that was introduced to the Malaysian market in July 2025. At launch, buyers could choose between two variants, one powered by a turbocharged engine and another with a hybrid powertrain. Both variants are locally assembled at the Inokom plant in Kulim, Kedah.

In terms of size, the Tiggo Cross is similar to the Proton X50. Combined with its sub-RM100,000 price point, it offers an interesting option for buyers looking for an SUV with a spacious cabin.

Chery Tiggo Cross specifications

The Tiggo Cross Turbo is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 145 PS and 210 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through a six-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

The Turbo variant is claimed to deliver fuel consumption of around 16 km/l, with a 51-litre fuel tank.

The Tiggo Cross Hybrid CSH uses a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine paired with an electric hybrid system. The powertrain produces 201 PS and up to 310 Nm of torque. The Hybrid is also more fuel efficient, with a claimed fuel consumption of more than 18 km/l.

Beyond their different powertrains, both Tiggo Cross variants share many of the same cabin features, including a 10.25-inch infotainment display, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ADAS and a 540-degree surround-view camera.

Chery Tiggo Cross Sport Edition launched

In October 2026, Chery introduced a new version of the SUV called the Tiggo Cross Sport Edition. It is based on the Turbo variant and is offered at a promotional price of RM83,800, compared with its official RRP of RM91,800.

The Sport Edition retains most of the Turbo's core components, including the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, six-speed DCT and 18-inch wheels. The key difference is its sportier exterior styling, with additions such as winglets, Sport badges and a dedicated bodykit.

The Chery Tiggo Cross is also marketed as the Chery Tiggo 4 in some overseas markets, where the model has been available since 2024. The model uses an LN2-sized battery.
